Form 957i

This information form provides a general guide to requirements for migration to Australia. If you think you have a good chance of meeting the criteria in the migration class which best suits you, you can buy the information package which includes the form 47 APPLICATION FOR MIGRATION TO AUSTRALIA from Australian mission overseas or any DIMA office.

* If you decide to apply it is important that you use the correct form and pay the correct charge.

* You must also indicate the visa class under which you wish to be considered. Your application cannot be considered under any class other than the one you show on your form.

WHO CAN MIGRATE TO AUSTRALIA?

Australia's migration program does not discriminate on racial, gender or ethnic grounds. Most migrants come to Australia as:

-- Family migrants Must have a relative in Australia who can sponsor them;

-- Skill migrants Must have skills or abilities that will benefit Australia;

-- Refugee, humanitarian and special assistance migrants Read the separate form 969i;

-- Interdependent migrants You must have an interdependent relationship with an Australian citizen.

WHAT ARE THE BASIC REQUIREMENTS?

To migrate to Australia, you must:

* Meet the personal and occupation requirements of the category for which you are applying;

* Be of good health and character.

NOTE: Good English is essential to work in Australia. Without English it will be difficult to get a job to match your skills and qualifications.

Distinguished talent:

Allows the migration of people who have outstanding records in an occupation, the arts or sport. Applicants must show they will be an asset to the Australian community.

Independent:

This covers the entry of highly skilled people whose education, skills and employability will contribute to the Australian economy. Applicants are to be of working age and pass the "points test". See form 958il - Independent Skill Migration and the Points Test.

Business:

Provides for migration on the basis of established skills in business and/or investment. Applicants must have recent experience running a successful business or substantial investment portfolio as an owner or part owner, or have been a senior executive in a large company. See form 962i - Business Skill Migration.

Комментарии: если у Вас, как и у меня, нет в Австралии богатого дядюшки, то единственная категория, где реально что-то может получиться - Skill Migration. Её я рассмотрю подробно. (959i). В ней, в свою очередь, интерес представляют три описанные выше подкатегории. В особенности, конечно, Independent Skill Migration w/Points Test. (958il).

После рассмотрения этих документов перейдём непосредственно к 47 (т.е. основной анкете, если Ваша категория Independent Skill Migration, то помимо неё Вы должны заполнить бланк Skill Test).

Making and Processing Visa Applications

YOU MUST HAVE A VISA TO TRAVEL TO AND STAY IN AUSTRALIA

Where to get information:

You can get information about visas, charges and forms and apply for visas at DIMA offices in Australia and at Australian mission overseas.

* If you wish to stay in Australia longer than your visa allows, you should apply for another visa BEFORE your current visa ceases.

How to apply for a visa:

To make a valid application you must:

-- Indicate the class of visa that you want

-- Use the correct form

-- Pay the required charge

-- Send or deliver your application to a DIMA office at an Australian mission overseas

You must also:

- complete the form in English

- answer all questions truthfully

- provide originals or certified copies of all documents

NOTE: If you overstay your visa or your visa is cancelled, you risk being detained and removed from Australia.

Form 959i

Migrating to Australia: Skill Migration

This information form tells you about the categories within the Skill Migration component of Australia's migration program.

Who is eligible?

Australia wants to attract people whose business, technical, trade or professional skills will contribute to Australia's economic growth.

Independent Migration

Individuals may apply for migration if their education and skills will help expand the range of skills available in Australia and contribute to Australia's economic growth.

They do not need to be nominated or sponsored by anyone in Australia, but they are required to meet the "Points Test", which awards points for an applicant's skills, age and language capability.

Note: English language ability will be also tested as part of processing the migration application.

Distinguished Talent

A small number of places are available each year for people who have distinguished themselves at international level by having exceptional sporting or creative talents, or other special abilities and whose migration would represent a clear gain to Australia.

Business Skills

This visa class allows people with business and/or investment skills to migrate to Australia. Active business people, who are owners or part-owners of a business and/or investment portfolio and senior executives employed by major businesses, may qualify. Applicants need to demonstrate business and/or investment expertise and achieve the required score under the Business Skills Points Test, which awards points for business/investment attributes, age, language ability and assets.

Note: Once in Australia, business migrants are expected to use their skills and capital to establish new business and/or investment portfolio, or become active owners or part-owners of existing businesses, in Australia.

Комментарии: Если Вы - Олимпийский чемпион, то Ваша категория - Distinguished Talent. Если у Вас МHОГО денег (порядка нескольких сот тысяч $), то - Business/Investment Skills. Во всех остальных случаях - Independent Skills Migration:

-- заполняете анкету Points Test

-- заполняете основную анкету для всех (Form 47), где указываете категорию визы - Independent Skills Migration. -- платите некоторую сумму за рассмотрение Вашего заявления (эти суммы меняются регулярно, летом этого года было порядка $900)

-- если вызовут на собеседование (скорее всего, так и будет) - являетесь в указанный день и час

-- ждёте ~1,5 месяца рассмотрения Вашего application.

If your qualifications in your usual occupation are ACCEPTED by the appropriate authority in Australia, and you have all the following experience in that occupation:

* qualification obtained at least 3 years before you apply; AND

* you were working in the occupation 3 years before you apply points:

Diploma / Associate Diploma 55

If your qualifications in your usual occupation are ACCEPTED but you do not have all the above experience in that occupation:

YOUR ESTIMATED TOTAL POINTS ARE: Skill + Age + Language.

You must reach the PASS or POOL mark in order for your application to be processed further.

PASS Mark - this is the total number of points you must score to pass the points test.

POOL Mark - if you do not achieve the pass mark, the pool mark is the total number of points you must score for your application to be held in reserve for up to 12 months after it is assessed, in case a newer, lower pass mark is set.

The current pass and pool marks are:

PASS MARK -- 115 points

POOL MARK -- 100 points

IMPORTANT - Marks are subject to change. Check with the nearest Australian mission before lodging your application.

Note: if your score does not reach the pool mark, your application will be refused. If your application is in the pool for 12 months and your score remains below the pass mark, or the pool mark increases above your score during that period, your application will also be refused.
